Disney+ is currently undergoing a free beta test trial in the Netherlands, and obviously people are going to be digging through the content that’s being offered on the service to see what to expect. While there’s none of the new shows available in the test, the majority of the catalog stuff you can expect is there to stream, and there’s a nice surprise with the Star Wars movies.
According to a post on Reddit, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will be available in 4K alongside Star Wars: The Last Jedi:
This is interesting because as of right now, the only Star Wars movies available in 4K are Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Solo: A Star Wars Story. There have been rumors of a 4K release of the recent movies around April, and them showing up on Disney+ in the format is a sign those could be true.
Note: as this is a test in the Netherlands, a lot of the content will be drastically different when the service launches in the US. We already know we’ll have to wait a while for Star Wars: The Last Jedi in the US, but it’d be unusual for Rogue One to be in 4K during the test and not when the service launches on November 12th.
