Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Crosses $1 Billion At the Box Office

It’s as if millions thousands hundreds dozens of angry voices suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced. That’s right, the thing that people were claiming wouldn’t happen just did. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker has crossed $1 billion at the box office, and it’s not done yet.

Many analysts are thinking that it could end up with around $1.2 billion when all is said and done, which is just a bit less than Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

What angry people on the Internet don’t want you to know, is this is how it always happens with Star Wars movies. In their original releases The Empire Strikes Back made less than A New Hope, and then Return of the Jedi made even less than Empire. It’s always a declining amount as a trilogy plays out, so this is expected. Although people who ignore history and facts will of course be trying to tell you that $1.2 billion is a failure just like they said $1.3 billion was two years ago.

This means the only Disney-Era Star Wars movie to not cross $1 billion is of course Solo: A Star Wars Story. And Rise did it without China as well.
